09.02.08 THE LOST RING: FINAL DAYS
The Lost Ring has ended with the closing of the 2008 Olympics. Thousands participated in the game, and their mission seems to have been completed successfully. You can read the closing statement here, as well as watch a few videos of the "Lost Sport World Championships," in which finalists from the teams Wellington, Salvador, Tokyo, London, San Francisco, and Beijing competed for medals in labyrinth circuits, including one on The Great Wall of China. Kent Couch, the Pacific Northwest's famous cluster balloonist, took off from Bend, Oregon yesterday sitting in a lawn chair lifted into the sky with balloons! Kent landed safely in Cambridge, Idaho with a new world record for cluster ballooning, and since he brought a . with him, all the details of his journey and proof of his record can be seen the way that they're supposed to, and surely makes for one of the most unique . routes ever made.
