Binxian is a county in the northwestern part of Shaanxi Province, China. It covers an area of 2, 266 square kilometers and has a population of about 400, 000 people. The county is located at the intersection of two major rivers in China – the Yellow River and Wei River – which have played significant roles in shaping Chinese history. Binxian has a long history dating back to the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046-771 BC) when it was known as Binzhou and served as an important military stronghold.
