Cherepovets is a city in the Vologda Oblast of Russia that sits on the banks of the Sheksna River, Which flows into the Volga River. The city has a population of over 300, 000 people and covers an area of 125 square miles. The history of Cherepovets can be traced back to 1362 when it was founded as a small settlement. By the 16th century, It had become an important trading center due to its location on the river and proximity to Moscow. During World War II, Cherepovets played a significant role in supplying weapons and equipment for Soviet troops.

Today, Cherepovets is one of Russia’s largest industrial centers with several large factories producing steel, Aluminum, Chemicals, And machinery. The city is home to Severstal – one of Russia’s largest integrated iron and steel works – which employs more than half of the city’s workforce.
