The City of Isabela is a first-class city situated in the province of Basilan, Philippines. It is located on the southern coast of Basilan Island and covers an area of 223.6 square kilometers. The city was named after Queen Isabella II of Spain who reigned during the time when the Philippines was under Spanish colonial rule. Despite its history as a stronghold for Muslim rebels, Isabela has transformed into a bustling commercial center that serves as an entry point to other parts of Basilan and nearby provinces.
