Coacalco is a municipality located in the State of Mexico, Which is one of the 32 states that make up Mexico. It is situated in the northeastern part of the state and shares borders with Tultitlán, Ecatepec de Morelos, And Tultepec. The city has a population of approximately 300, 000 people. The name Coacalco comes from Nahuatl language and means place where there are snakes. The city was founded by Mexicas who settled in this area around 1325 AD. Later on, During the colonial period, Spanish conquistadors arrived in Coacalco and built several churches and haciendas that still stand today.

One of the most important landmarks in Coacalco is its main square or zocalo. Here visitors can find a beautiful church called San Francisco de Asis which dates back to 1600s. The church’s architecture is stunning with its intricate carvings on stone walls and columns. Another interesting place to visit in Coacalco is Plaza Las Flores Shopping Center.
