1. The founding of Guasave in 1531 by Spanish conquistador Nuño Beltrán de Guzmán.

5. Francisco Labastida Ochoa, a politician who served as Governor of Sinaloa from 1987 to 1992 and later ran for President of Mexico in 2000.
