Huanghua is a small county located in the northeastern part of Hebei Province, China. It is situated on the coast of the Bohai Sea and has become an important transportation hub for both land and sea trade. The county covers an area of 1, 906 square kilometers and has a population of over 500, 000 people. The history of Huanghua can be traced back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD), When it was known as Liuji. During this time, It was a prosperous fishing village that traded with other coastal cities in China.

In the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), Huanghua became an important military base due to its strategic location on the coast. Today, Huanghua is known for its thriving economy and industrial development.   2. Zhang Xueliang was a Chinese warlord who controlled Manchuria in the early 20th century and was captured by Chiang Kai-shek’s Nationalist Army in Huanghua in 1936.
  3. Xu Beihong was a famous Chinese painter and art educator who served as president of Beijing Art Academy and founded an art department at Shandong University.
  4. Liu Zhidan was born in Huanghua and became known as the Iron General for his bravery and military tactics while serving as a general of the PLA during the Chinese Civil War (1945-1949).
  5. Chen Yi, a prominent Communist Party leader who served as China’s foreign minister from 1958 to 1972, visited Huanghua several times during his political career, including leading negotiations with Japan after World War II.
