Kırıkkale is a city located in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, Situated on the Ankara-Kayseri highway, Around 80 kilometers east of Ankara. The city boasts a population of approximately 270, 000 people and covers an area of around 4, 500 square kilometers. The history of Kırıkkale dates back to ancient times when it was initially settled by the Hittites and later became part of the Roman Empire. During the Ottoman period, It played an important role in agriculture and trade due to its strategic location between Ankara and Kayseri.

Today, Kırıkkale is a modern city with many amenities such as shopping centers, Restaurants, Cafes, And parks. One notable attraction in Kırıkkale is the Atatürk House Museum which showcases artifacts related to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk who was the founder of modern Turkey.   1. Kırıkkale is a city that was established in 1927 as a district of Ankara Province.

  3. One of the most significant events that took place in Kırıkkale was the Battle of Kırıkkale during the Turkish War of Independence. This battle between French colonial troops and Turkish National Forces occurred on October 10, 1921.
  4. In August 2016, Turkish military forces launched Operation Euphrates Shield against ISIS in northern Syria from their base in Kırıkkale.
  5. İbrahim Kaypakkaya, a Marxist-Leninist revolutionary who founded the Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninist (TKP/ML), was born in Çerikli village near Kırıkkale in 1949.
  6. Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca, one of Turkey’s most prominent poets, spent his childhood years in Kırıkkale where his father worked as a doctor although he was born in Istanbul.
