Longquan is a city located in the southwestern part of Zhejiang Province, China. It is situated at the foot of Mount Bailong, Known for its scenic beauty and cultural significance. The city has a rich history dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) and has been an important center for ceramics production since ancient times.   3. The Battle of Yiling: The Battle of Yiling occurred near Longquan during the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280 AD). It was fought between two powerful warlords, Liu Bei and Sun Quan, over control of central China.
  4. Tang Xianzu: Tang Xianzu was a celebrated playwright who lived during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). He was born in nearby Linchuan County but spent much of his life as an official in Longquan.
  5. The Taiping Rebellion: The Taiping Rebellion (1850-1864) remains one of the largest civil wars recorded throughout Chinese history, with millions of casualties. It began near Guangxi province but quickly spread to other parts including Zhejiang province where Longquan is located.
  6. Chen Yi: Chen Yi served as mayor of Shanghai from 1949 to 1958 besides being a prominent military leader and politician throughout his life; he had close ties to Longquan despite being born in nearby Shaoxing.
