Makurdi is a city in the north-central region of Nigeria, Specifically in Benue State. It is located on the banks of River Benue and has a population of approximately 300, 000 people. Makurdi is known for its rich cultural heritage and diverse ethnic groups that reside within it. The name Makurdi was derived from the Tiv language which means a place to stay. The city has a tropical climate with two distinct seasons: rainy and dry season. The rainy season lasts from April to October while the dry season runs from November to March.
