Marand is a city situated in the East Azerbaijan Province of Iran. It is located in the northwest region of the country, Approximately 45 kilometers southwest of Tabriz, Which is one of Iran’s largest cities. The city has a population of around 150, 000 people and covers an area of approximately 3, 500 square kilometers. The history of Marand dates back to ancient times when it was known as Maren or Maranda. During the medieval period, Its strategic location made it an important center for trade and commerce.
