Masindi is a town situated in the western region of Uganda, Around 220 kilometers northwest of Kampala, The capital city. The town is located on the eastern bank of River Nile and is surrounded by lush green forests and rolling hills that provide picturesque views. Masindi has a population of over 70, 000 people who are largely farmers engaged in growing crops such as maize, Cassava, Bananas, And coffee. Murchison Falls National Park is one of Masindi’s most significant attractions covering an area exceeding 3, 840 square kilometers.

The park boasts several wildlife species like lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes and various bird species. Visitors can enjoy game drives through the park or take boat rides along River Nile to view animals up close. Masindi also features several historical sites attracting tourists from all over Uganda such as Kabalega’s Fort located on a hill overlooking Masindi town built by King Kabalega in the late 1800s to protect his kingdom from British colonialists during their invasion into Uganda.
