Nazran is a city located in the Republic of Ingushetia, Situated in the southern part of Russia. It is bordered by Georgia to the south and North Ossetia to the west. Nazran has a population of approximately 100, 000 people and serves as the administrative center of Ingushetia. The city has a rich history dating back to ancient times when it was inhabited by various ethnic groups such as Alans, Scythians, And Huns. Later on, It became an important trading center due to its strategic location on the Silk Road.

Today, Nazran is known for its beautiful landscapes that include mountains and forests. It is also home to several historical landmarks such as Magas Cathedral and The House-Museum of M.Yu Lermontov.     2. Akhmad Kadyrov was a prominent political figure who served as the President of the Chechen Republic from 2003 until his assassination in 2004. He was born and raised in Nazran.
    3. In September 2004, terrorists seized a school near Nazran called Beslan school siege, taking over 1,000 hostages (mostly children) for three days before ending with over 330 people dead.
    4. Ruslan Aushev was a politician who served as the President of Ingushetia from 1993 to 2001; he played an essential role in negotiating peace between North Ossetia and Ingushetia after their conflicts.
    5. Magomed Yevloyev founded an independent news website called ingushetiya.ru that reported on corruption and human rights abuses under President Murat Zyazikov’s rule; he was arrested by security forces upon his arrival at Magas airport near Nazran in August 2008, leading to his death while still under their custody.
    6. Islam Tekushev is an Olympic wrestler from Nazran who won gold medals at both Sydney Olympics (2000) and Athens Olympics (2004).
