1. The New York Yankees are a professional baseball team founded in 1901. They hold the record for the most World Series championships, having won 27 titles.
2. The New York Giants are a professional football team established in 1925. They have won four Super Bowl championships and eight NFL championships.
3. The New York Knicks are a professional basketball team that was founded in 1946. They have two NBA championships under their belt and have boasted famous players such as Patrick Ewing and Carmelo Anthony.
4. The New York Rangers are a professional hockey team established in 1926 with four Stanley Cup championship wins to their name, playing at Madison Square Garden.
5. Originally based in New Jersey, the Brooklyn Nets moved to Brooklyn in 2012 as a professional basketball team that has yet to win an NBA championship but made it to the NBA Finals twice while still based in NJ.
