Pākdasht is a city located approximately 40 kilometers southeast of Tehran in the Tehran Province of Iran. The city has a population of over 200, 000 people and covers an area of around 1, 800 square kilometers. It is situated at an altitude of around 1, 100 meters above sea level and experiences a semi-arid climate. One popular attraction in Pākdasht is the Imamzadeh Saleh Shrine which dates back to the Safavid era and features beautiful architecture with intricate tile work and calligraphy.

Another popular attraction is the Khojir National Park which covers an area of over 9, 000 hectares and offers visitors stunning views of mountains, Valleys, And forests.     Noteable History

    1. The Battle of Ray in 1194 was a significant conflict between Sultan Sanjar and his nephew, Ala al-Din Tekish, which took place in the city of Ray (now known as Pākdasht).
    2. Sheikh Bahai was a renowned scholar and polymath who lived in Pākdasht during the Safavid era (16th century). He is famous for his contributions to Islamic philosophy, mathematics, and astronomy.
    3. During the Qajar dynasty (18th-19th centuries), Pākdasht played an essential role as a center for agriculture and trade.
    4. Reza Shah Pahlavi visited Pākdasht in 1935 to launch a new irrigation system that revolutionized agriculture in the region.
    5. Ayatollah Khomeini maintained close ties with supporters in Iran through an activist network that included individuals from Pakdasth while he was exiled in France during the 1970s.
    6. Several battles were fought near Pakdasth during the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988) as Iraqi forces attempted to invade Tehran.
    7. In 2009, thousands of protesters across Iran took to the streets demanding greater political freedoms and democracy after disputed presidential elections, including those from Pakdasth who participated in what became known as The Green Movement.
