- The Qin Dynasty: This was the first imperial dynasty of China (221-206 BCE), which originated from the Qinbaling region. Xi’an city, located at the foot of these mountains, is where the famous Terracotta Army was discovered.
- Emperor Wu of Han: He was a prominent emperor in Chinese history (r. 141-87 BCE) who expanded his empire’s territory to include much of modern-day China by building roads through Qinling Mountains.
