Ramat Gan is a city located in the central district of Israel, Just east of Tel Aviv. With a population of over 150, 000 people, It is the fifth-largest city in the country. The name Ramat Gan means Garden Heights in Hebrew and was given to the city due to its many parks and green spaces. The city has a rich history that dates back to biblical times. In fact, An ancient burial site was discovered in Ramat Gan that dates back to the Canaanite period (around 2000 BCE).

During Ottoman rule, Ramat Gan was used primarily for agriculture and had only a few hundred residents. Today, Ramat Gan is known for its modern architecture and high-tech industry. It is home to many technology companies such as Microsoft, Intel and IBM who have set up their research centers here. The diamond exchange center located in this city is also one of the largest diamond trading centers globally. One of the most popular attractions in Ramat Gan is Safari Park – an African-themed wildlife reserve that covers over 250 acres.

Visitors can drive through the park or take a guided tour bus where they can see lions, Tigers, Elephants and other exotic animals up close. Noteable History

1. Ramat Gan was established in 1921 as a small agricultural settlement.
2. Avraham Krinitzi served as the first Jewish mayor of Ramat Gan from 1936 to 1950.
3. In the late 1970s, Ramat Gan became home to Israel’s Diamond Exchange District, which is now one of the largest diamond exchanges in the world.
4. During the opening ceremony for the Maccabiah Games held in Ramat Gan Stadium in July 1997, a bridge collapsed and killed four athletes while injuring dozens more.
5. The Moshe Dayan Museum, located in Ramat Gan, is dedicated to Moshe Dayan who played an important role in Israel’s early history as an Israeli military leader and politician.
6. Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated at a peace rally held at Tel Aviv’s Kings Square on November 4th, 1995; he died later that night at Ichilov Hospital located within Ramat-Gan city limits although not directly associated with it.
7. The Ayalon Institute Museum tells the story of a secret underground bullet factory that operated during British Mandate rule over Palestine (1917-1948) and is located on Kibbutz Ein Hahoresh near Ramat-Gan.
8. Abba Eban was born in Cape Town South Africa but grew up and lived most of his life in London before moving to Israel where he became an ambassador for Israel to both Britain and America as well as being appointed Deputy Prime Minister under Golda Meir from whom he took over as Prime Minister after she resigned following criticism over her handling of the Yom Kippur War.
