Shuozhou is a city located in the northern part of Shanxi province, China. It has a population of over 1 million people and covers an area of approximately 5, 000 square kilometers. The city lies on the banks of the Fen River and is surrounded by mountains. The history of Shuozhou dates back to the Neolithic period when it was inhabited by various ethnic groups. During the Han Dynasty, It became an important military stronghold due to its strategic location between two major cities, Taiyuan and Datong.

Later on, Shuozhou served as a center for trade and commerce due to its proximity to Beijing. Mount Wutai is one of Shuozhou’s most famous landmarks located about 50 kilometers from the city center. It attracts thousands of visitors each year who come to see its beautiful temples and natural scenery. Jinci Temple is another popular attraction that dates back over 1, 400 years with ancient buildings featuring intricate carvings that provide insight into Chinese architecture during different dynasties.
