Toyonaka is a city located in the Osaka Prefecture of Japan, Situated in the northern part of Osaka. The city is known for its beautiful parks, Cultural heritage sites and educational institutions. It has a population of around 400, 000 people and covers an area of approximately 36 square kilometers. One of the most popular attractions in Toyonaka is the Expo ’70 Commemorative Park. This park was built to commemorate the World Exposition held in Osaka in 1970 and covers an area of over 260 hectares.

It features various gardens, Museums, Art galleries and sports facilities that are enjoyed by locals and tourists alike. Another must-see attraction in Toyonaka is the Hotarugaike Shrine. This Shinto shrine dates back to ancient times and was once considered one of the most important shrines in Japan. Visitors can explore its beautiful grounds which include a large pond filled with fireflies during summer evenings.

For those interested in history, Toyonaka has several historical sites worth visiting such as Ishibashi Cultural Center which houses various artifacts from ancient times including pottery pieces from Jomon period (14, 000 BC – 300 BC), Yayoi period (300 BC – 300 AD) as well as Kofun period (250 AD –710 AD).
