Xai-Xai is a coastal city situated in the southern part of Mozambique, Approximately 200 kilometers from the capital city of Maputo. It serves as the capital of Gaza Province and has a population of around 150, 000 inhabitants. The name Xai-Xai originates from the local language and means the place where one can rest. The primary attraction in Xai-Xai is its stunning beaches. Praia do Xai-Xai, Which extends over 10 kilometers along the coastline, Is a popular tourist destination among both tourists and locals alike.

The beach boasts crystal-clear waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling, As well as soft white sand that’s ideal for sunbathing or relaxing under an umbrella. Another must-see attraction in Xaixi is Lighthouse Reef – a breathtaking coral reef located just off the coast that offers some of Mozambique’s best diving opportunities.
