Yantai is a stunning coastal city located in the northeastern part of China’s Shandong province. The city sits on the Bohai Sea and has an extensive history that dates back over 7, 000 years to when it was known as Zhifu Island. Yantai has served as a significant port city for centuries and was one of China’s primary trading ports. The name Yantai means smoke tower in Chinese, Which refers to ancient signal towers used to warn ships of approaching danger.
