Youngstown is a city located in northeastern Ohio, United States. It has a population of approximately 64, 000 people and covers an area of 33.6 square miles. The city is situated on the Mahoning River and was once known as the Steel Valley due to its prominence in the steel industry during the 20th century. The history of Youngstown dates back to the early 19th century when it was first settled by European immigrants. The city experienced rapid growth during the late 1800s and early 1900s thanks to its thriving steel mills and manufacturing industries.
