Haraḑ is a small town located in the western region of Saudi Arabia, Around 200 km north of Jeddah. It is situated on the edge of the Nafud desert and surrounded by rocky hills and mountains. The town has a population of approximately 10, 000 people who are mainly engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. The climate in Haraḑ is arid with hot summers and cool winters. During summer months, The average temperature can reach up to 45°C while winter temperatures can drop as low as 5°C.

Despite its harsh climate, Haraḑ has been inhabited for thousands of years due to its strategic location along ancient trade routes. One of the main attractions in Haraḑ is the Al-ʿUla archaeological site which dates back to pre-Islamic times. This site contains several tombs carved into rocks that were used by ancient Arabian tribes as burial places for their leaders. The tombs are adorned with intricate carvings and inscriptions that provide insight into the lives and beliefs of these tribes. Another notable landmark in Haraḑ is Jabal Ithlib, A mountain range located just outside the town.
