Al Maţarīyah is a charming town situated in the Dakahlia Governorate of Egypt, Located about 80 kilometers northeast of Cairo. This small town has a population of around 100, 000 people and is known for its rich history and cultural heritage. The town is situated on the eastern bank of the Nile River, Offering visitors stunning views and natural resources. One of the main attractions in Al Maţarīyah is Bubastis, An ancient city that dates back to 4000 BC during the Pharaonic era.

This city was dedicated to Bastet, Goddess of fertility and cats, And was famous for its magnificent temples and statues.
