Al Qāmishlī, Also known as Qamishli or Kamishly, Is a city located in northeastern Syria near the border with Turkey and Iraq. It serves as the administrative center of the Al-Hasakah Governorate and has a population of approximately 200, 000 people from various ethnic groups. One of the most striking features of Al Qāmishlī is its distinctive architecture. Many buildings in the city are built from black basalt stone, Which can be traced back to ancient times when it was part of the Kingdom of Assyria.
The economy in Al Qāmishlī primarily relies on agriculture with wheat being one of its main crops. Additionally, There are several oil fields located nearby that provide employment opportunities for locals. However, Ongoing conflict in Syria has had a significant impact on its economy.
