Alasandigutta is a small town located in the Nalgonda district of Telangana, India. The town is famous for its ancient temple of Lord Narasimha Swamy, Which is believed to have been built during the 14th century. The temple attracts thousands of devotees every year who come to seek blessings and offer prayers. The temple complex consists of several shrines dedicated to various deities such as Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, And Lord Hanuman. The main attraction of the temple is the idol of Lord Narasimha Swamy which stands at a height of six feet and is made out of black stone.

It’s believed that the idol has healing powers and can cure various ailments. Apart from its religious significance, Alasandigutta also has historical importance as it was once a part of the Kakatiya dynasty known as Alampur during that time. It was an important center for trade and commerce with several ancient ruins in and around Alasandigutta that bear testimony to its rich cultural heritage. One such site is Jogulamba Temple which dates back to the 7th century AD.

It’s one among eighteen Shakti Peeths in India where Sati Devi’s upper jaw fell after her body was dismembered by Vishnu’s Sudarshana Chakra when he tried to stop Shiva’s Tandav dance after Sati Devi died. Another popular tourist destination near Alasandigutta is Kolanupaka Temple which houses an ancient Jain shrine dedicated to Lord Mahavira featuring intricate carvings on its pillars and walls depicting scenes from Jain mythology.
