Amadora is a city in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area of Portugal, With a population of over 175, 000 people. The name Amadora comes from the Latin word amator, Meaning lover or admirer because it used to be a popular destination for couples looking to escape from Lisbon. Despite its size, Amadora has many attractions for visitors. One of its main draws is the Centro Comercial Dolce Vita Tejo shopping mall, One of Europe’s largest malls with over 400 stores and restaurants. There are also several parks and green spaces throughout Amadora that are perfect for outdoor activities.

Parque da Paz (Park of Peace) is one such park covering an area of 20 hectares with walking trails, Picnic areas, Playgrounds for children, Sports facilities like tennis courts and football fields as well as an artificial lake where visitors can rent paddle boats or kayaks.
