It is situated on the left bank of the Don River, About 15 kilometers southeast of Rostov-on-Don, The administrative center of the region. The history of Bataysk dates back to the early 19th century when it was founded as a small village. In 1865, It became part of the newly formed Don Host Oblast and began to develop rapidly due to its strategic location on the Don River.
