Bataysk is a city located in the Rostov Oblast region of Russia. It is situated on the left bank of the Don River, About 15 kilometers southeast of Rostov-on-Don, The administrative center of the region. The city has a population of over 100, 000 people and covers an area of approximately 60 square kilometers. The history of Bataysk dates back to the early 19th century when it was founded as a small village. In 1865, It became part of the newly formed Don Host Oblast and began to develop rapidly due to its strategic location on the Don River.

During World War II, Bataysk suffered significant damage from bombing raids by German forces but was quickly rebuilt after the war.
