Biên Hòa is a city located in the Dong Nai province of southern Vietnam. It is the capital city of Dong Nai and is situated 30 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. Biên Hòa has a rich history that dates back to the 11th century when it was part of the Champa Kingdom. The city has many attractions that make it a popular destination for tourists.   1. The Battle of Biên Hòa in 1968 was a significant event during the Vietnam War, where the North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong launched an unexpected attack on the U.S. Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade and South Vietnamese forces stationed in Biên Hòa.
  2. Nguyễn Ái Quốc, also known as Ho Chi Minh, is considered the founder of modern Vietnam. During his revolutionary activities against French colonial rule, he spent some time in Biên Hòa.
  3. Lê Văn Duyệt was a prominent military leader during the Nguyen Dynasty and is regarded as a national hero for his contributions to defending Vietnam against foreign invasions. He was born in Biên Hòa.
  4. Đỗ Thị Điểm led an uprising against French colonialism in Biên Hòa in 1940 and is remembered as a female revolutionary who fought for her country’s independence.
  5. Trần Quốc Tuấn was a general under the Tran Dynasty who achieved victories against Mongol invaders and was born in Biên Hòa.
  6. Phan Chu Trinh advocated for democratic reforms and independence from France during his time organizing anti-colonial movements from Biên Hòa.
