Binangonan is a municipality found in Rizal province, Philippines. It is located on the eastern shores of Laguna de Bay, The largest lake in the country. The town covers an area of 66.34 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 300, 000 individuals. The name Binangonan comes from two Tagalog words that translate to raised land or plateau. This refers to its elevated location above sea level, Which makes it less susceptible to flooding during typhoons and heavy rains. Binangonan has a long history dating back to pre-colonial times when it was ruled by various chieftains.

During Spanish colonization, It became part of Morong Province until American rule separated it in 1901. One of Binangonan’s most famous attractions is the Angono-Binangonan Petroglyphs – ancient rock carvings depicting animals like lizards and turtles as well as human figures and symbols that date back around 3, 000 BC. Cardona Island (also known as Isla ng Puting Buhangin) is another popular destination with white sand beaches ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
