Bishkek is the capital city of Kyrgyzstan, A landlocked country in Central Asia. The city is situated in the Chui Valley at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. Bishkek has a population of over one million people and is the largest city in Kyrgyzstan. The city was founded in 1825 as a fortification on the Silk Road and has been an important trading center ever since. One of the most notable landmarks in Bishkek is Ala-Too Square, Which serves as the central hub for political and cultural events.
