Noteable History

1. Battle of Calumpit: This was a significant battle during the Philippine-American War that took place on April 25, 1899. Filipino forces under General Antonio Luna fought against American troops led by General Arthur MacArthur Jr.
2. Andres Bonifacio: He is considered as the Father of Philippine Revolution and one of the most notable figures in Philippine history. Bonifacio was born in Tondo but spent some time in Calumpit working as a clerk before he became a revolutionary leader.
3. Gregorio del Pilar: He was one of the youngest generals during the Philippine-American War who fought alongside Emilio Aguinaldo’s army. Del Pilar led his troops to defend Tirad Pass against American forces but was eventually killed in action.
