Champdani is a small town situated in the Hooghly district of West Bengal, India. The town is located on the banks of the river Hooghly and is renowned for its rich cultural heritage and historical significance. It was named after a local deity called Champabati, Who was believed to have protected people from natural calamities. The history of Champdani dates back to the 16th century when it was ruled by the Mughals. Later, It became an important center for jute production during British rule.
