Chelyabinsk is a city located in the southern part of Russia, Near the border with Kazakhstan. It is situated on the eastern slope of the Ural Mountains and has a population of approximately 1.2 million people. The city was founded in 1736 as a fortress to protect against nomadic tribes and has since grown into an industrial center known for its metallurgical and chemical industries. One of Chelyabinsk’s most notable landmarks is the Chelyabinsk Meteorite, Which fell to Earth in February 2013. The meteorite exploded above the city, Causing damage to buildings and injuring over 1, 000 people.
