Chimbote is a city in the Ancash region of Peru, Located on the Pacific coast. It is renowned for being one of South America’s largest fishing ports and has a population of around 400, 000 people. Additionally, Chimbote is an important industrial center with a vibrant commercial district. The history of Chimbote dates back to pre-Columbian times when it was inhabited by indigenous groups such as the Huaylas and Recuay cultures. During colonial times, It became an essential center for agriculture and mining due to its fertile land and rich mineral deposits.

In the 20th century, Chimbote experienced rapid growth due to its booming fishing industry. The city produced more than half of Peru’s fish catch and earned itself the nickname the capital of fish.
