Gateshead is a town located in the North East of England on the south bank of the River Tyne. It is part of the metropolitan borough of Gateshead, Which also includes nearby areas such as Birtley and Blaydon. The town has a long history dating back to Roman times and was once known for its coal mining industry. One of Gateshead’s most famous landmarks is the Angel of the North, A 66-foot-tall sculpture created by artist Antony Gormley.

The sculpture stands on a hill overlooking the A1 road and has become one of Britain’s most well-known works of public art since its installation in 1998. The Sage Gateshead is another popular attraction in Gateshead, An award-winning music venue that opened in 2004.
