Gemena is a city located in the northwestern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Also known as Kinshasa. The city has a population of approximately 140, 000 people and serves as the capital of Sud-Ubangi province. Gemena is situated on the banks of the Ubangi River, Which forms part of the border with neighboring Central African Republic. The climate in Gemena is tropical with high temperatures and humidity throughout most of the year. The rainy season lasts from April to November, While December to March are generally drier months.

Despite its location near a major river, Access to clean water remains a challenge for many residents. The economy in Gemena relies heavily on agriculture and forestry industries.
