Gombe is a city in the northeastern part of Nigeria, Serving as the capital of Gombe State. The city boasts a population of over 300, 000 people and sits on the banks of the Gongola River.   1. Gombe State was created in 1996 from Bauchi State, with Gombe town as its capital.
