  7. The Ming dynasty scholar-official Liu Ji (1311-1375), also known as Liu Bowen, was born in Guangshui and served as a strategist for Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang.
  8. The Qing dynasty scholar Wu Jingzi (1701-1754), author of The Scholars, had ancestral roots in Guangshui and wrote about it in his work.
