Guankou is a small town located in the southeastern region of China, In the province of Fujian. The town is situated at the foot of Mount Guan and near the mouth of the Jiulong River, Which flows into the Taiwan Strait. Guankou has a population of approximately 50, 000 people and is known for its rich history and cultural heritage. The town has been inhabited for over 2, 000 years and was an important center for trade during the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

It was also a significant port city during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) when it served as one of China’s gateways to Southeast Asia. Today, Guankou still retains much of its historical charm with well-preserved ancient architecture that includes temples, Pagodas, Bridges, And old streets. One notable attraction in Guankou is Tianhou Palace or Temple of Mazu – a temple dedicated to Mazu – goddess of sea who is believed to protect fishermen and sailors from harm.

The temple dates back to 1684 during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and features intricate carvings on its walls as well as beautiful paintings depicting scenes from Chinese mythology. Another popular attraction in Guankou is Mount Guan Scenic Area which covers an area of about 3 square kilometers at an altitude ranging between 200m to 350m above sea level.
