Horad Barysaw, Also known as Borisov, Is a city located in the Minsk Region of Belarus. The city has a population of approximately 150, 000 people and is situated on the banks of the Berezina River. It is one of the oldest cities in Belarus and has a rich history dating back to the 11th century. The city was founded by Prince Boris Vseslavich and was initially called Borovsk. In 1102, It was renamed Borisov in honor of its founder.

Throughout its history, Horad Barysaw has been an important center for trade and commerce due to its location on major transportation routes. One of the main attractions in Horad Barysaw is the St. Sophia Cathedral which was built in 1706-1708 by order of Peter I. The cathedral is considered one of the most beautiful baroque-style buildings in Belarus and features stunning frescoes and intricate carvings.   2. HK Barys Astana – This ice hockey team was initially based in Horad Barysaw before moving to Astana (now Nur-Sultan) in Kazakhstan. Founded in 1999, they have won two Kazakhstan Hockey Championships.
