Huixquilucan is a beautiful town located in the State of Mexico, Close to Mexico City. The name of the town comes from Nahuatl language which means place where the willows grow. This picturesque town has an area of approximately 79.36 square kilometers and is situated at an altitude of 2, 500 meters above sea level. The history of Huixquilucan dates back to pre-Hispanic times when it was inhabited by the Otomí people. During the colonial period, Huixquilucan became an important stop on the route between Mexico City and Toluca due to its strategic location.
