Jalingo is the capital city of Taraba State in Nigeria, Located in the northeastern part of the country. It is a vibrant and bustling city with a population of over 100, 000 people. The city boasts a rich cultural heritage that dates back to pre-colonial times when it was ruled by various ethnic groups such as the Jukun, Kuteb, Mumuye and Fulani. One of the most notable landmarks in Jalingo is Mambilla Plateau which lies to its southwest. This plateau is one of the highest plateaus in Nigeria and offers breathtaking views of surrounding hills and valleys.

Tourists flock to this area for hiking, Camping and other outdoor activities. Another popular attraction in Jalingo is Gashaka-Gumti National Park which covers an area of over 6, 000 square kilometers across Taraba and Adamawa States. The park boasts diverse ecosystems including savannah grasslands, Rainforests and mountain ranges that are home to rare species such as chimpanzees, Elephants, Gorillas and leopards. Jalingo also has a thriving agricultural sector with crops such as yams, Maize, Cassava and rice being grown extensively in surrounding farmlands.
