Kemalpaşa is a district in the province of İzmir, Turkey. It covers 1, 166 square kilometers and has a population of around 150, 000 people. The district was named after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, The founder and first president of Turkey. Kemalpaşa is known for its rich history, Natural beauty and agricultural products. The region has been inhabited by various civilizations throughout history such as Hittites, Lydians, Persians and Romans. During the Ottoman period it became an important center for agriculture due to its fertile lands.

Today Kemalpaşa is one of the major agricultural centers in İzmir province producing fruits such as cherries, Peaches, Apricots and grapes as well as vegetables like tomatoes and peppers. Visitors should not miss Şirince Kemer Aqueducts which was built during Roman times to provide water supply to Ephesus (Efes) city located nearby Selçuk town today.
