Khayelitsha is a township located on the outskirts of Cape Town, South Africa. It is one of the largest townships in the country, With a population of over 400, 000 people. The name Khayelitsha means new home in Xhosa, One of the official languages of South Africa. The township was established in 1983 during apartheid as a result of forced removals from other areas.
