Khŭjand, Also known as Khujand or Khojand, Is the second-largest city in Tajikistan and the capital of the Sughd region. It is located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level in the fertile Ferghana Valley near the border with Uzbekistan. The city has a rich history dating back to ancient times and has been an important center of commerce and culture for centuries.
