Kumbakonam is a small town located in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated on the banks of River Cauvery and is known for its rich cultural heritage and historical significance. The town has been a center of learning, Art, And culture for centuries. The name Kumbakonam comes from the word Kumba, Which means pot or vessel in Tamil. Legend has it that Lord Brahma installed a pot filled with nectar (Amrita) on top of a pillar to protect it from demons here.
