  1. The Battle of Lingayen Gulf: This was a major naval battle fought between the United States and Japan during World War II in January 1945. The battle resulted in a decisive victory for the United States.
  2. Aguedo Agbayani: He was a Filipino lawyer, politician, and revolutionary who played an important role in the Philippine Revolution against Spanish rule. He was born in Lingayen.
  3. Tomas del Rosario: He was a Filipino businessman, philanthropist, and politician who served as Governor of Pangasinan Province from 1904 to 1907. He is credited with transforming Lingayen into a thriving commercial center.
  4. Fidel Ramos: He is a former President of the Philippines who was born in Lingayen in 1928. Ramos served as President from 1992 to 1998 and is known for his efforts to modernize the country’s economy and infrastructure.
  5. Salvador Laurel: He was Vice President of the Philippines under Corazon Aquino from 1986 to 1992 and also served as Prime Minister under Aquino’s government-in-exile during martial law era before People Power Revolution that ousted Ferdinand Marcos regime. Laurel was born in San Miguel de Mayumo but his mother hails from Manaoag which is a nearby town of Lingayen.

  4. Pista’y Baley (Town Fiesta) is celebrated in each barangay (village) in Lingayen throughout the year to honor their respective patron saints.

  6. Malimgas Festival is held annually in Dasol town located at the western part of Pangasinan which celebrates their main produce called Malimgas or Mangosteen fruit through street dancing competition showcasing colorful costumes made from malimgas leaves.
  7. Pindangan Festival highlights Dagupan City’s famous Bangus or Milkfish industry which is celebrated every last week of April until May 1st with various activities like cooking contests, fish shows & exhibits among others.
