Lingcheng, Also known as Ling County, Is a county located in the southeastern part of Shanxi Province, China. The county covers an area of 1, 220 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 500, 000 people. It is situated on the banks of the Fen River and surrounded by mountains on three sides. The history of Lingcheng dates back to the Han Dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE) when it was established as a military stronghold. During the Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE), Lingcheng became an important center for trade and commerce due to its location along major transportation routes.

Today, Lingcheng is known for its rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks. One of the most iconic landmarks in Lingcheng is the Xuanzhong Temple. This ancient temple was built during the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534 CE) and has been restored several times throughout history. Inside there are many beautiful Buddhist statues carved from stone that date back to different dynasties. Another notable landmark in Lingcheng is Jinci Temple which was built during the Zhou Dynasty (1046–256 BCE).
