Lingyuan is a county-level city located in Liaoning Province, China. It covers an area of 2, 260 square kilometers and has a population of over 350, 000 people. The city is known for its natural beauty, Cultural heritage, And thriving economy. One of the most popular attractions in Lingyuan is the Lingyuan Grottoes. These Buddhist caves date back to the Northern Wei Dynasty and contain over 2000 statues and murals depicting historical figures, Buddhist deities, And everyday life scenes.     1. Battle of Lingyan (1592): This battle saw the Ming dynasty successfully defend Lingyuan against a Japanese invasion force led by General Li Rusong.
    2. Zhang Xueliang: A Chinese warlord who controlled Liaoning Province in the early 20th century, Zhang is known for helping to end China’s Warlord Era and supporting Chiang Kai-shek’s Nationalist government.
    3. Wang Zhaojun: This legendary beauty from Han Dynasty married a Xiongnu chieftain to establish peace between Han China and Xiongnu.
    4. Northern Wei Dynasty: Established during this period were important cities such as Lingyan while Pingcheng served as its capital city (386–534).

    7. Linghe Incident(1929): On June 3rd 1929 Chinese Communist Party members assassinated Zhang Zuolin -the warlord controlling Manchuria- when he passed through railway bridge over river Liao at Yangcun town within present day Linhe district.
